Nestling in the heart of the French Alps, the Flaine ski area is a real gem for winter sports fans. Situated at an altitude of between 1,600 and 2,500 metres, Flaine offers exceptional snow conditions throughout the season. Known for its unique architecture, friendly atmosphere and breathtaking scenery, not least its breathtaking views of the Mont-Blanc massif (internal link winter panorama), Flaine is a destination of choice for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.
The Flaine ski area was the brainchild of French skiing legend Émile Allais. In the 1960s, he used his experience as an Olympic medallist, world champion and ski instructor to design the resort’s ski runs.
With 64 pistes and 24 lifts, Flaine offers a wide variety of terrain. Beginners can take advantage of the beginners’ zones with its 4 free ski lifts, then take to the wide, gentle slopes, while experts will be delighted by the more technical slopes and sensational off-piste itineraries such as the combes de Gers and de Véret or Les Lindars. The resort also has fun zones, perfect for freestyle enthusiasts.
As well as its well-maintained pistes, Flaine also boasts a modern infrastructure. The fast, comfortable lifts provide quick, easy access to the different parts of the resort. Flaine is linked to the Grand Massif ski area, so you’re guaranteed unforgettable moments on the slopes.
