The gallery, which also houses a lending library, is a member of the Altitudes network of contemporary art centres in the Alps. Sylvie Boissonnas, who along with her husband believes that “for us, the art centre is both the heart and the crowning glory of Flaine”, was the driving force behind this dynamic development.
The Boissonnas couple are the creators of the Scaler foundation, whose name is an acronym for Science, Culture, Art, Literature, Education and Religion.
This foundation has donated many works of art to the resort.
